In order to continue the exploration of the Atlas flora diversity, ULILI launches the small format of the “Atlas Herbarium”.

The Atlas Herbarium and the Atlas mini-Herbarium are a composition of local dried flowers. They are gleaned directly by ULILI or sourced from herbalists in Azrou and Casablanca.

The setting for this floral harmony is also 100% made in Morocco. The wooden base is carved in the precious scented Thuya wood of Essaouira . As for the dome, it is made of recycled glass blown by artisans based in Marrakech.

The floral composition of the Atlas Herbarium may change depending on the seasons.

Behind the Scenes

 

The dried flowers :

ULILI called upon the gleaners to gather in the fields, covering the fertile foothills of the Middle Atlas, blueberries, poppies, hare's-tail grass...

Other species of local flora are ordered from herbalists in Azrou and Casablanca.

The picked flowers are dried away from light to retain their color.

The dried flowers are carefully arranged and glued on the wooden base of Thuya.

The cardboard packaging is designed to protect the Atlas Herbarium during shipment.

The dome :

ULILI entrusts the creation of its domes to an artisanal glass atelier based in Marrakech.

This glass atelier is well known in Morocco for its famous collection of traditional tea glasses.

The green reflection of the dome comes from the recycled glass used for its production.

The Thuya wooden base :

The aromatic Thuya wood comes from the region of Essaouira.

Shaping this type of wood is an ancestral know-how held by the artisans of the Atlantic port city, formerly called Mogador.
