The Wicks
Our wicks are lead-free and made of natural cotton.
The Screenprinted Characters
Are illustrated by the artist Zineb Benjelloun.
Each one of the candles comes to life, inspired by the characters of a traditional Spanish card game played by several generations of Moroccans.
The Wax
Each ULILI candle is made with vegetal waxes and beeswax. All candles are paraffin free.
Our candles are designed to create a strong, yet delicate release of its fragrances as well as a harmonious melting of the waxes.
The Ceramics
Each piece undergoes several oven firings and hand manipulations for the lacquering and screenprinting. The crackles on our chalices are obtained thanks to "Raku", a japanese technique used in Pottery.
The Lids (sold as an option) are chiseled in Thuya wood. They provide ULILI candles with a precious touch. They also prevent the wax of your candle from being soiled by dust.
In order to help protect this widespread tree in the Essaouira region, the lids are crafted by a talented Essaouira native woodworker. He makes sure to only use the branches, rather than the roots. The wood of the roots can be identified from the spots on the wood's surface.
